Thomas Paine's version of "you didn't build that":
"Separate an individual from society, and give him an island or a continent to possess, and he cannot acquire personal property. He cannot be rich. So inseparably are the means connected with the end,in all cases, that where the former do not exist the latter cannot be obtained. All accumulation, therefore,of personal property, beyond what a man's own hands produce, is derived to him by living in society; and he owes on every principle of justice,of gratitude, and of civilization,a part of that accumulation back again to society from whence the whole came"

Today, Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) introduced an amendment to ban abortion coverage in the Senate health care reform bill. Take action now»
The Nelson-Hatch amendment is the Senate version of the Stupak-Pitts amendment in the House. Both would prohibit any private health insurance policy that participates in the newly formed health exchanges from covering abortions. Millions of women could lose coverage that they currently have through private insurers.
Don’t be fooled — this debate isn’t only about abortion. It’s about attacking health care reform by any means necessary, and in this case, on the backs of women. This vote could happen today or tomorrow — please sign and send to your friends now!
